LAHORE: Federal Minister of Defence has said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani would be considered justified, and not the president, and Pakistan Ambassador Hussain Haqqani found in the U.S. involved in the Washington memo scandal, reports Samaa.
Addressing a press conference here, Mukhtar Ahmed defended the federal government over the scandal of a letter allegedly written by President Asif Ali Zardari to Admiral Mike Mullen to seek help from the Pakistani army in the wake of Abbottabad operation.
Haqqani, has arrived in Islamabad to meet Zardari and Gilani are committed on the issue.
He said Mansoor Ejaz "is a conspirator." The minister went on to say that PM Gilani would be considered responsible if the Pakistani envoy found involved in the secret letter problem.
"If our ambassador is concerned, it is a matter relating to the Prime Minister and his cabinet," Mukhtar said.
Mukhtar calls coming months are crucial for the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government, excluding any possibility of a military coup in the country.
"Neither a state of emergency will be imposed and it is likely in the future," Mukhtar claimed. Samaa
