Hillary Clinton sympathizes with Penn State rioters:I can understand the passion.

Hillary Clinton has family ties to Penn State, so of course she has recused himself from commenting on child abuse scandal that has shaken ... oh wait, sorry. In fact, she talks about it and she is sympathizing with student protesters.

To quote Rick Perry: "Oops."
Traveling with President Obama on a tour of the Pacific (she is now in Bali), Clinton, Secretary of State, was asked about the Penn State situation in an interview with ABC Jake Tapper. Clinton:
"Im also the daughter and sister of two men who went to Penn State football team and did so we have a long tradition of supporting Penn State academic and athletic.
"I can understand the passion and emotion ... of people who were perhaps not as quiet or treated in their answers, but now it seems across the board everyone is focused on the children who allegedly were victims."
Um, can condemn the rioters have been the way to go here. But after all, Clinton's father and brother not only attended Penn State, but both have played football there. And Hugh Rodham, her brother, actually played for Paterno. He was a backup quarterback, according to his biography, and graduated in 1972. Which also means he played for Jerry Sandusky. Although I do not see Rodham on any of the all-time Penn State rosters I've found online. By "backup quarterback," they must have meant no trips scout team or something.
So Hillary's loyalty to Penn State football program is listed ... it's just a shame that it's not reciprocal. You may or may not remember that in 2008 when Bill Clinton visited Penn State campus on behalf of Hillary's presidential campaign, Joe Paterno refused to meet him. Paterno, a lifelong and loyal Republican, decided that politics trumped the school band, apparently.
While Jay Paterno, Joe's son and an assistant coach for the Nittany Lions, snubbed Hillary in her own way. The younger Paterno is a democrat, but voted for Obama.
Funny Joe Paterno offers, via ESPN in 2008: "The only thing I have for Jay is admiration for him because he is willing to do what he thinks is right. He sticks his neck out for Obama."
I reserve comment on that for a later date, perhaps Hillary should have done today.
